Howdy, I’m Joshua Alvarez. I turn complex problems into experiences that feel simple. With 3+ years in product design, I use research and testing to shape scalable SaaS and B2B products.
So, who’s Josh?
I’m Joshua Alvarez, a product designer who likes figuring out what’s making something difficult and finding a better way forward. For the past 3+ years, I’ve worked on SaaS and B2B experiences, using research and testing to make complex products easier to use.
My interests extend into web, brand, and graphic design. I care about how things look, how they work, and how those two come together. I bring ideas to the table, ask plenty of questions, and stay open to changing direction when I learn something new. The goal is always to make something useful, thoughtful, and worth putting into the world.
How I work, in a perfect world.

Discover
Understand how it works today and figure out what’s actually broken. Get clear on what the business needs and what users need. Agree on what success looks like etc.

Define
Turn insights into ideas through sketches, layouts, and early concepts. Try different directions to find a balance between visual appeal and practical purpose.

Deliver
Develop the strongest direction, gather feedback, and test where needed. Fine-tune how it looks, communicates, and works, down to the smallest details.

Run it back
Prepare design for launch, handoff, or production. Make sure it translates well across formats, with clear files and keep improving where it matters.
How I work, in the real world.
Kick Off
I rarely work on a project that goes exactly as planned. I adapt as timelines shift and priorities change, adjusting my process to keep things moving. But I always make time to get my ideas down, whether through a quick sketch, an early layout, or an AI-assisted prototype. I understand a problem best when I can see it, and having something tangible helps me figure out what to do next.
